- Georgian Military Road through the enormous walls of the Caucasus - from where we can admire Kazbek in all its splendor;

PROGRAM:
Day 1, Saturday, July 8, 2023: We meet at the airport in Bucharest, take the plane and land in Tbilisi the next morning (for another airport, please contact us).
Day 2: The first part of the day is dedicated to the capital of Georgia. The interweaving of architectural styles, old with modern, the people, and of course, Georgian cuisine will leave a strong imprint on the soul. After lunch, we leave for Stepantsminda, accommodation, and briefing. In the evening, we will prepare the bikes for the next stage - the cycling one.
Day 3: In the morning, after breakfast, we will hike up to the old Gergeti church. From here, we can admire the peak of Kazbek. Afterwards, we will bike down a relatively straight road to warm up, passing through the Gudauri ski resort, ancient fortresses, and the Zhinvali reservoir. Incredible mountain landscapes will unfold before us. Distance: 130 km. Positive elevation difference: 880 m; negative: 2500 m.
Day 4: We will visit the ancient rock-cut city of Uplistsikhe, where we will discover various structures dating back to the early Iron Age and late Middle Ages. The unique combination of different styles of rock-cut cultures from Anatolia and Iran is remarkable. We will also visit the Stalin museum-house in his hometown of Gori. Distance: 120 km. Positive elevation difference: 630 m; negative: 430 m.
Day 5: If the name Borjomi doesn't mean anything to you, after this day, you will only want to drink Borjomi. The town, with the same name, is renowned for its balneotherapy and mineral water! Borjomi water is of volcanic origin, rising to the surface from a depth of 8-10 kilometers. Unlike other waters, it is rich in sodium bicarbonate. The solid rock of the Caucasus mountains enriches the water with over 60 mineral compounds obtained during the filtration process. We will stay in Ahaltihe. Distance: 80 km. Positive elevation difference: 520 m; negative: 200 m.
Day 6: We will face the most challenging part of the route. After a long climb over the Goderdzi ski resort pass, we will begin the descent towards the final part. We will pass by old churches, fortifications, and many other exceptional places. The mountains, rivers, and dreamlike landscapes will not disappoint. Distance: 60 km. Positive elevation difference: 1200 m; negative: 600 m.
Day 7: We will follow one of the numerous wine roads in Georgia. We will pass through authentic villages scattered on an extraordinary relief, where every turn opens up a new vision of Georgia. In the end, we will indulge in the sunset on the seaside and a refreshing beach at our final destination - Batumi, the pearl of the Black Sea. We will be tired and exhausted, but the sea water works wonders. Distance: 100 km. Positive elevation difference: 300 m; negative: 1700 m.
Day 8: We will have a full day of relaxation on the beach in Batumi. The city fascinates with its architecture, infrastructure, beach, and multiple activities. It fully deserves its name as the "pearl" of the Black Sea. We will also have time to find gifts for our loved ones back home. In the evening, we will pack our equipment, prepare our bags, and get ready for the journey home.
